Promotion: Times-Free Press and the Pulse

Happy to report that we have been interviewed today by reporters from the Chattanooga Times-Free Press and the Chattanooga Pulse.

For those who don’t know the area, the T-FP is the daily paper for the region (it will be in the Weekend Section on Friday) and the Chattanooga Pulse is the hip entertainment paper in town (which hits the stands each Thursday afternoon).

Promotion: Hotel Promotional Kits

Along with the previously mentioned additions of Who-Fest Street Teams, we will also being leaving a promotional kit of posters/flyers to all the downtown hotel properties.

We are encouraging the front desk employees to mention Who-Fest to out of town hotel guests that are looking for interesting things to do while staying downtown over the Memorial Day Weekend.

Promotion: Who-Fest Street Teams

We are excited to announce that during Who-Fest weekend, we will have “street teams” to hand out postcards. These volunteer teams will canvas Coolidge Park, Frazier Avenue, the Walnut Street Bridge, and the Aquarium area of downtown.

Hopefully this will help draw in more Memorial Day weekend tourists that might not know about Who-Fest. The street teams will be also versed on giving directions to the site (and will be knowledgeable on ways to get to the site besides walking…whether it be by the river taxi or the free electric shuttle).

If anyone wants to hear our interview about Who-Fest, Howard Finster and folk art in general…go to WUTC.org (click the “listen” link) at 10:06am EDT on Tuesday (May 20th).

The interviewer, Elizabeth Miller, is a big supporter of the Arts…particularly folk art. We at Who-Fest sincerely thank her for helping “spread the word”.

Promotion: Large Banners will be placed on Monday (May 12th)

We have ordered 8 very nice custom vinyl banners to be hung in and around the North Shore.

For those who know the area, we will have 3′x6′ banners in the following locations…

1) at the end of the Oligati Bridge at the Manufacturer’s Road Exit

2) at the main entrance to Renaissance Park

3) at the corner of Manufacturer’s Road and Cherokee Blvd

4) at the secondary entrance to Renaissance Park

5) at the end of the Market Street Bridge (pending approval)

6) at the end of Veteran’s Bridge at Frazier Avenue

We will also have to smaller 3′x4′ banners, we will have them placed at Art ’til Dark the next Saturday’s and then on Who-Fest weekend, we will place one of them at the end of the Walnut Street Bridge and one in Coolidge Park.

Along with these banners, we will also have smaller (11″x17″) “whoman” poster placards (with arrows) that will be placed every 100 feet or so down the sidewalk on Frazier Avenue and in Coolidge park to help direct walking traffic to Renaissance Park.

Images of the vinyl banners can be seen in the “Banner Ads-Poster” Section.

These banners will go up on Monday, April 12th, which give us almost 2 full weeks of exposure on some major traffic routes in Chattanooga.
